Happy to be involved in the Garden Estate Redevelopment community campaign (花園大廈重建社區支援計劃) since this June, having hosted a couple of photo workshops for the residents of Garden Estate, stirring up their curiosity to capture their roots as well as appreciation of the beauty of their neighbourhood and surrounding architecture.
Many old kaifongs (老街坊) have been living in the estate since the 1960/70s (& some are new young migrants too). They are always able to tell interesting stories about their home and of coz the rapid development of Kwun Tong over the past few decades. Many of them are in their late 70s/80s but their knowledge, energy and ‘talkability’ always overwhelm the class!
